Strength-based Practice for Real Situations (FSA Core)

This course reviews the principles of strength-based assessment practices from the perspective of identifying strengths and engaging strengths in the treatment plan of care. The FSA practice habit that is specifically trained is:
Ability to identify operational and functional strengths in context and reflect them back in a meaningful way

After completing this course, participants should be able to define both an operational and functional strength in context and have experience reflecting those back to people with which they provide services. Please RSVP to thedman@fsasf.org

 

Identifying Unmet Needs (FSA Core)

This course reviews principles of strength-based assessment from the perspective of identifying unmet needs and engaging consumers with a deeper understanding of what is motivating their recovery. The FSA practice habits that are specifically trained are:
Ability to identify unmet needs in applied settings
Ability to craft needs statements

After completing this course, participants should be able to identify and craft unmet needs statements in applied settings and practice reflecting those back to the people with which they provide services.  Please RSVP to thedman@fsasf.org

 

SBCM Operative Principles (FSA Core)                          
Tuesday, January 26, 9:30AM to 4:30PM

This course is mandatory for all new FSA Employees. This day long workshop will provide participants with an overview in current best practices of Strength-based Care Management through the 4 phases of treatment; Engagement, Assessment, Planning/Implementation and Transition. This one-day training utilizes two trainers to review theory and key ideas through the use of short workshops. The course will cover key expectations of providers who offer Strength-based Care Management and a pre and post tests will be applied. All the other trainings offered through the curriculum deepen these principles in specific categories of learning. The principles that will be reviewed include:

  • Welcoming and Engagement
  • Culturally Relevant Assessment of Strengths and Needs
  • Client Centered Care Planning
  • Distinguishing Safety over Crisis in Consumer Transitions 

Course is mandatory for all FSA new employees and will have providers across the system present. Please RSVP to thedman@fsasf.org.
